Pharmacy is the science and technique of preparing, dispensing, and review of drugs and providing additional clinical services. It is a health profession that links health sciences with pharmaceutical sciences and aims to ensure the safe, effective, and affordable use of drugs. The Indian pharma sector is expected to generate 58,000 additional job opportunities by the year 2025. Indian pharma market will grow to USD 55 billion by 2020 from USD 12.6 billion in 2009.

The institute has homes for boys and girls, and committees made up of elected student representatives manage them. All hostels are located on campus.

The institute is entirely residential. The institute was already affiliated with the University of Lucknow, currently an autonomous institute recognized by AICTE. The institute is a college made up of Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University.
