MPGI, Lucknow (popularly known as “Engineering College” in Lucknow) is one of the most prestigious and highest ranked institutes among all the technical institutions associated / affiliated with the Technical University Dr APJ Abdul Kalam/BTE, Lucknow. The Institute is obtained by the government of Uttar Pradesh and is administered by the Executive Council of the AKTU.

The institute has homes for boys and girls, and committees made up of elected student representatives manage them. All hostels are located on campus.

The institute is entirely residential. The institute was already affiliated with the University of Lucknow, currently an autonomous institute recognized by AICTE. The institute is a college made up of Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University/BTE Lucknow.
